In an interview on Tucker Carlson’s X channel, Texas Governor Greg Abbott says that he’s not backing down on securing his state from the ongoing invasion of illegal migrants and is “prepared” for a conflict with the Biden administration over it.
Gov. Abbott is getting a lot of support from other governors as ten states so far have sent National Guard troops to help secure the border.
Carlson’s first question to the Governor is what he would do if the Biden administration decided to federalize the National Guard in Texas.
“Well, first I’d be shocked. That would be a boneheaded move on his part,” replied Abbott, but says that the state is prepared for that unlikely event if it does happen.
“We will continue to do exactly what we’ve been doing — to expand our denials of illegal entry into the state of Texas,” said Abbott.
He added that National Guard from other states and law enforcement will continue to secure the Texas border.
“Texas is going to continue to expand the border barriers that we are erecting, the razor wire that we’re putting up, and to continue to gain control of more land over the coming months,” said Abbott.
“I believe, however, that this will all come to an end on January the 20th of next year,” he continued. “Because I believe a new president will be sworn in — a president who will actually enforce the immigration laws of the entire country, not just the Texas border, but New Mexico and Arizona and California, and the Canadian border also. And we will have safe and secure borders once again because we will have a president who will actually enforce the laws of the United States of America.”
