Ilhan Omar. A member of the Squad representing Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.
She was born in Somalia in 1982 (although it appears she was actually born in 1981). Her father was a Colonel in the Somali Army who entered the United States illegally since he never mentioned he was a communist (thus violating the Immigration & Nationality Act of 1965 which prohibited the naturalization of anyone involved with any communist organization for the previous ten years. At any rate, Ilhan came to the United States with him, and became a citizen in 2000.
In 2002, she married Ahmed Hirsi, and they had three children before getting divorced in 2008. The following year, she married her brother Ahmed Nur Said Elmi as part of an immigration fraud scheme. In 2017, she filed for divorce from that incestuous marriage, and the next year remarried Hirsi, the same year she got elected to Congress.
In 2019, it was revealed that she had an affair with Democratic Party consultant Tim Mynett, resulting in Mynett’s wife filing for divorce. It was also revealed that she used campaign funds to pay for Mynett’s travel expenses. The next year, she married Mynett.
In 2020, Project Veritas revealed that Omar was involved in ballot-harvesting and ballot-tampering schemes in her Congressional district.
During Covid, she was involved in a $250 million meal fraud scheme, in which a nonprofit group named Feeding Our Future assisted restaurant owners in filing fake or exaggerated claims in order to obtain federal child nutrition funds.
In 2022, Omar was among various other individuals arrested while attending an abortion rights rally outside the Supreme Court building (in response to the high court overturning Roe v. Wade).
Omar’s response to these various accusations? Play the race card. Or accuse her accusers of being sexist. Or accuse them of being Islamophobic.
But now it seems that the chickens may be coming home to roost. The Trump Administration is investigating her fraudulent marriage to her brother, something that Biden put a stop to when he was in the White House. Recently, the Department of Homeland Security raided her home as part of the investigation into her fraudulent marriages, as well as her income (since she and her husband suddenly became millionaires overnight).
Meanwhile, Omar is trying to get re-elected to Congress, facing Republican candidate John Nagel.
Hopefully, if Nagel doesn’t bring her down, then perhaps the investigation will.
