Say her name. Laken Riley is quickly becoming the face of Joe Biden’s illegal immigration issue as surely as George Floyd became the face of complaints about police use of power.
Today, Joe Biden is going to stand in front of America (and the world) to tell us what a great job he has been doing and why he should be called upon to serve a second term.
He will tell us that the economy is just peachy, crime is under control, and any small problem he may admit to about illegal immigration is entirely the fault of Republicans.
Joe Biden has thrown open the door to, among other people, over half a million Venezuelans. His administration has even admitted illegal aliens in by the hundreds of thousands by way of the app that plays games with the provision of ‘parole’ that was designed for people coming here for — as an example — for medical care. It was intended to be used on case-by-case basis, not the wholesale admission of unvetted people from God knows where.
The fact that he has gone out of his way to bring in people from Venezuela is of particular interest now that there are stories about crime being suddenly lower there, while some brutal Venezuelan gangs start establishing beach-heads in American cities they did not previously have.
That gang story becomes relevant when we look at the murder of Laken Riley.
Not only was her accused killer met at the border when he entered illegally by way of El Paso, but his brother, Diego Ibarra, was picked up and charged with having a bogus green card.
Today, the headlines include the older brother of the accused being connected to the very same Venezuelan gangs authorities have been warning us about.
Federal authorities have since found that Diego has ties to the Venezuela-based gang Tren de Aragua, a violent gang that has been trying to gain a foothold in the US.

The Tren de Aragua gang, also known as TdA, has made its way into New York City, Texas, Florida, Illinois and Georgia, along with South and Central America. The group has also been linked to the violent assault on NYPD officers in January.

More pictures of him with firearms were found online even though illegal immigrants in the US are not legally allowed to own guns.
‘Ibarra is a citizen of Venezuela and was processed for expedited removal but claimed a credible fear of return to Venezuela,’ the United States Attorney’s Office Middle District of Georgia wrote in a statement.
‘He was consequently released from immigration custody pending adjudication of his claim for asylum on April 30, 2024.’
A month after that, he allegedly cut off his ankle monitor that Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed on him. It was later found in Colorado, but by that time, Diego had made it to Athens, Georgia. — DailyMail
