The big election news that even the networks have been covering is the announcement by Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega. And it reminds us all of the Dems’ real intentions.

The country, of course is Nicaragua. The darling example of the leftist ideal. The example cited of where socialism really did work except for all the meddling from pro-Western nations. (After the revelations in this post from the State Department, the left has zero moral authority to complain about Western meddling in left-wing nations.)
They have announced that the people have no right to self-determination. The regime will make such determinations for them. Just like they did in Venezuela. Or Cuba. Or China. Or the USSR.
Ortega’s announcement comes at an awkward moment in the evolution of the American Political left. They have tried to frame themselves as the ‘defenders of the democratic process’… Raskin himself has once again framed himself as the ‘defender of democracy’ and sworn enemy (one would suppose) of all these other sorts of ‘crats’.
Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin goes on an unhinged rant while slandering Republicans:

That’s quite a list. Kleptocrats? Dems almost universally oppose investigations into waste, fraud and abuse, especially in NGOs and places like the Minnesota Learing Centers or Los Angeles Hospice fraud. Plutocrats? You mean, like Soros, or Neville Roy Singham, who’s currently under investigation? Maybe the Pritzker family? Or maybe the Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss? THOSE plutocrats? And Theocrats? You clowns march with Hamas, clasp hands with CAIR. Some democrat candidates have openly shown support for Iran’s so-called supreme leader.
But the funniest one is Autocrats. Moduro ‘cared about elections’ in exactly the way the modern American left does — as a means to an end and nothing more. They’ll falsify the once-per-decade census to get a few extra seats in Blue States. They’ll pad the representation numbers with non-citizens who have no voting rights. Low level dems have been routinely caught trying to rig their own primaries, and there’s no reason for us to believe they have greater concern for the integrity of the general election than they do their own primaries. They refuse to clean up the voter rolls. Illegal aliens are registered to vote. The behavioural evidence of them caring more about power than the will of the people is overwhelming.
And the Democrats openly campaigning (and being devoured from within by) the DSA, whose political platform explicitly calls for ripping up the Constitution and replacing the American system of government with checks and balances with some kind of a politburo where the Citizens will not even have a say in who the President is.
That’s a decision for the party in power.
Ortega’s declaration of ‘no more elections’ and Hasan Piker standing up at a Democrat conference in his Chairman Mao-style suit (he LOVES Mao), after having openly called for ‘blood in the streets’ is not exactly strong evidence that the Democrats even have a token belief in the Democratic process, let alone the moral authority to claim they are the defenders of it
