Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden are VERY public about their Catholic beliefs — so long as nobody actually asks them to LIVE by them.
Ancient religious views are exactly the sort of thing that the activist left likes to either topple or hijack. Because left alone, they stand in direct opposition to any attempts to rewrite the moral order in their own image.
Nancy Pelosi, for all her posturing about her personal religious faith, has made it clear that when faith and politics come into conflict, she will pick politics 100% of the time.
Democrat talking heads on TV love to throw a spotlight on Trump for areas where Christian leaders ought to rebuke him for whichever moral failing they’re beating a drum about this time because there is a moral obligation to put principle over party.
Where are those same talking heads in crediting a Catholic Archbishop for doing with Pelosi exactly what they wanted Evangelicals to do with Trump. (Yes, that question is rhetorical. We know it’s nothing more than mock outrage to serve a political agenda.)
As we draw near to the end of Lent and enter Holy Week, Pelosi is once again talking about being called out for her enthusiastic support of baby-killing by an Archbishop from the Church whose moral authority she claims to sit under.
Christian tradition has strong warnings about taking communion when engaged in willful rebellion against God, and as such, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has denied her participation in communion until she gets her heart right before God.
While speaking at an event at Georgetown University’s Center on Faith and Justice Thursday, Pelosi commented on her stance on abortion.
“I think I’m pro-life because I care about children and the rest,” said Pelosi, who has spoken in favor of abortion rights.
She continued, “I have a problem with my archbishop, well the archbishop of the city I represent. But, I mean, I figure that’s his problem, not mine.”
Pelosi suggested she is “pretty much in sync when it talks about the social compact of the Catholic bishops and the rest.”
However, she explained, “They are willing to abandon the bulk of it because of one thing.” — IJR

She might think she’s engaging in clever focus-group-tested wordplay. But she hasn’t stopped to consider whether there’s a bigger reason the Archbishop is giving her such a public warning.
One day, she will have to stand before the God she claims to worship to give account of her life.
And all of the political spin-doctoring in the world won’t matter a damn.
Often, people who tell you hard truths are better friends than those who shower you with flowery praise.
