Chicago’s mayor is resisting federal offers to bring down violent crime in the city, but this OTHER issue is one so serious that he’s calling it out as a state of emergency.

State of emergencies are interesting things insofar as they invest elected politicians with powers they would not ordinarily have. For a party that has spent the past two years chanting ‘No More Kings’… it’s pretty rich.

AG Dhillon is all but daring him to do something stupid that she can use to set a precedent in court.
The ‘genocide’ he’s attempting to invoke is based on even shakier stats than we’re used to seeing invoked for creating an orchestrated political movement. Remember how BLM gaslit the public into assuming thousands of unarmed black men were murdered by police? Even in a Wiki list of black men killed by police, while allegedly unarmed, regardless of situation or circumstances is able to list them by name and date. In 2019, there were 25 entries, and in 2020, there were something like 32. Not 25,000. Not 2,500. Not even 250. Twenty-five. Or thirty-two. But if you’d ask a passerby on man-on-the street interviews and you would routinely see guesses in the thousands.
We’re told there is a ‘transfemicide’. That’s the kind of claim that comes with a LOT of asterisks.
Does the number of ‘victims’ include suicides? (It apparently does.) That skews the data some, doesn’t it? By that detail alone, we should turn our attention to the FAR more pressing issue of veteran ‘genocide’. Estimates of daily veteran suicide deaths range from 17.6 per day to a staggering 44 per day.
Labelle is one of at least 14 transgender and gender-nonconforming people slain in Chicago since 2016, according to data compiled by the Sun-Times.

It’s not just the quantity. The situation in which they die is misrepresented, too. We’re not talking about situations like the one in Smollet’s fever dream, where some poor sap get followed and jumped by strangers in a car. In cases that are solved the victim and assailant often knew one another, with domestic abuse and sex work accounting for some portion of those numbers. That dramatically changes the look of his ’emergency’. Especially in a city where just as many people were shot in a single weekend as were killed in eight long years.
Hey Jackass is a website we’ve often cited that exists for the sole reason gun crime in Chicago has been out of control at least since Capone was a kid. One of their stats is the ‘shot clock’ which as of this writing tells is there is a shooting in Chi-town every four hours and fifty minutes, and a murder every 20 hours and two minutes.
But stop everything. The mayor has got himself a transfemicide emergency. That’s far more important than the death clock numbers that keep ticking by in Chicago.
You’d think with so many of those dead Chicagoans being young black men, he might at least PRETEND he cared about black lives. What with an entire movement telling us how much they matter in the pandemic years.

Then sanctuary politicians LET HER WALK without calling ICE.
This is what the radical left calls “safe communities.” ICE called it what it is: dangerous, and arrested her anyway.
The shooters are now in federal custody
Maybe if you made serious efforts to keep EVERYONE alive, instead of cherry-picking the lives that fall under today’s cause célèbre and championing them, everyone would benefit from your leadership.
But no. We couldn’t possibly have that, could we?
