Most citizens just want to be left alone. But Pensacola provoked him to action.
His car was caught on video, going through a red light by AI-enabled traffic cams in Pensacola Florida. So he was sent a traffic ticket. There’s just one small problem — he was in Alabama at the time.
There was no effort by the cameras to verify the driver’s identity. And when he went to challenge it, he discovered not only that it was being run by third parties, and that the conflict resolution process was ridiculously Byzantine, but that the city was violating several laws in the process.
Here’s the news talking to Jacob Rockwell after his appearance at City Hall.
Here’s what he said there that caused a stir… including some specific legal statutes the city was violating in his particular complaint.
LISTEN: Jacob Rockwell was fined for running a red light in Pensacola, Florida.
Only thing is Jacob wasn’t in Florida, he was in Alabama.
He sounded off at a local city meeting recently and his concerns go beyond just one citation. pic.twitter.com/kXSlzaLCLI

His personal data is being handed over to a foreign national?
Over a traffic ticket that he couldn’t have incurred because he was in a whole other state at the time?
Outrageous.
He said he was someone else’s pain in the ass until he had to deal with this traffic ticket nonsense. ‘Now I’m YOUR pain in the ass.’
Sure looks that way.
