For all their talk about ‘defending democracy’, what Dems really mean is advancing their agenda and opposing all rivals… their handling of Israel is the latest example to prove that point.
The oppressed/oppressor assumptions that currently serve as the foundation stone of the left’s entire political agenda have significant consequences. Just ask Israel.
In a strange betrayal of one of its most stalwart voting blocks, Jewish people have gone from ‘hero’ to ‘zero’ in the eyes of their Democrat friends in a very short time.
Dems turning their back on Israel
Somehow, between the end of WWII and now, we went from almost universally rejecting antisemitism as an indefensible horror inextricably linked to the genocidal violence of Hitler’s Final Solution to having elected members of Congress calling for the destruction of the State of Israel and marching arm-in-arm with people chanting genocidal slogans like ‘River to the Sea’, or ‘There is only one Solution, Intifada Revolution’, while wearing symbols or colors of a terrorist organization (Hamas) whose official foundational document (since updated, but never repudiated) has unflinchingly called for the murder of Jews in the Middle East and beyond in the name of the religious supremacy of their sect.:
The spirits of its fighters meet with the spirits of all the fighters who have sacrificed their lives on the soil of Palestine, ever since it was conquered by the companions of the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, and until this day.
This Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS), clarifies its picture, reveals its identity, outlines its stand, explains its aims, speaks about its hopes, and calls for its support, adoption and joining its ranks. Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious. It needs all sincere efforts. It is a step that inevitably should be followed by other steps. The Movement is but one squadron that should be supported by more and more squadrons from this vast Arab and Islamic world, until the enemy is vanquished and Allah’s victory is realised.
That is who Israel has been at war with. The writings of Hamas allow for no compromise and explicitly reject the legitimacy of any deal or treaty made with the West. They only solution they will accept — according to their own documents — is the tolal Islamification of the region and nothing less. (See for example, Article Eleven: “As for the real ownership of the land and the land itself, it should be consecrated for Moslem generations till Judgement Day…. Any procedure in contradiction to Islamic Sharia, where Palestine is concerned, is null and void.”)
It is on that assumption of the legitimacy gained explicitly by military conquest dating back to the 7th century that they claim any Jewish claims to the region illegitimate and colonialist. (Forget the fact that even the SECOND Temple in Jerusalem, rebuilt on the site of the first one, was destroyed by Rome in 70 AD, with the rebuilding process coming in response to the Edict of Cyrus in 539 BC.
Fast forward to October of 2023.
Israel as an ‘oppressor’
The Oppressed/Oppressor narrative has created a hierarchy where color, economics, wealth and other markers of this nebulous thing called privilege are the defining characteristics of who gets to be the hero/villain in any narrative.
In an astonishing inversion of the MLK dream, our moral worth is literally measured on the color of our skin (or other privilege markers) rather than the conduct of our character. This is why mob violence in the streets that hurts people and destroys buildings can be defended by the media as legitimate protest, while orderly protest outside of abortion clinics, for example, is scandlous.
By that measure, the Jews in Israel (and Israelis generally) are automatically classed alongside white Europeans as the ‘oppressor class’, and the people of Gaza are automatically classed as the ‘victim class’ in that relationship. Terrorist acts, rape, and atrocities are downplayed as acts of desperation while Israel’s orderly military responses to such actions are denounced as ‘genocidal’. (See earlier references to the Hamas Charter to appreciate the irony of that claim.)
Pressure from the revolutionary hard left
Despite official statements in the support of Israel in response to the 10/7 war crime perpetrated by Hamas on their unsuspecting Israeli neighbors during a day of religious observance, pressure from hard-left astroturfed activist groups (which includes a LOT of money taken from foreign funding) they quickly began caving to pressure from the pro-Hamas activists who have used marches and intimidation tactics to drive foreign policy.
The hard left know it’s an election year, and they are leveraging that threat against Democrats to push their policies forward… including their insistence on holding Israel hostage to force them to act against their own interests.
Joe Biden’s rhetoric toward Israel has become increasingly antagonistic. And yesterday, Schumer picked a side.
Schumer’s rubicon moment
Caving to the pressure Schumer made the unheard step of using his role as Senate Majority Leader to call for the regime change — not of a historical enemy who has been waging war against us by proxies for years, such as Iran — but of a historical ally whose representative government so resembles our own that they can rightly boast that Modern Israel has not existed for even a single moment under any government OTHER than their form of a representative democracy.
The Israeli people have spoken. They have chosen their leaders, those leaders, each representing their various constituents’ interests, have formed a coalition government with Bibi serving as the head of state.
Democrats — who have been sandbagging Bibi at every opportunity since Obama used American tax dollars to prop up his opponent — dislike both his vision and his leadership.
Rather than working with the duly-elected leader, Sen Schumer made this speech:
!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src=”https://rumble.com/embedJS/u9235n”+(arguments[1].video?’.’+arguments[1].video:”)+”/?url=”+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+”&args=”+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, “script”, “Rumble”);
Rumble(“play”, {“video”:”v4gn4ke”,”div”:”rumble_v4gn4ke”});
You can see his full speech here, with the stream beginning at approx the 4:25 mark.
"It's grotesque… for Americans who hyperventilate about foreign interference in our own democracy to call for the removal of the democratically elected leader… The Democrat party doesn't have an anti-Bibi problem, it has an anti-Israel problem."https://t.co/pA3fheBXgu

Blowback
The backlash was swift and severe not just from other politicians, and right-wing voters but from the public more generally.
McConnell called it ‘grotesque and hypocritical’ that a party defined for years by the issue of ‘election interference’ is calling for the overthrow of democratically elected foreign leader.

Did you happen to notice that the same Chuck Schumer who threatened sitting Supreme Court Justices BY NAME because he disagreed with their pending Abortion Ruling, and heads a party openly fantasizing about court-packing had the audacity to list Israel’s judicial reform as one of the reasons he should be toppled?
The response by Ted Cruz was short and to the point:
And the cherry on top.
What a 24 hours.
Biden gives Iran $10 billion.
White House offers to meet with CAIR in Chicago.
Schumer calls for regime change in Israel.
Biden imposes sanctions on more Israelis.
All-out political warfare on our ally, rewards for terrorists, their sponsors and allies.

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.
Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.
This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
