The famed, decades-old National Geography Bee is no more because National Geographic Society cancelled it over woke “equity” concerns.
Apparently, Nat’l Geo worried that that not enough black and Hispanic kids were anywhere near close to winning the contest where kids display their knowledge of the world’s geography. And so, it has to go because there isn’t enough “equity” going on.
Nat’l Geo didn;t explicity say this, granted. But what they did say leads us to no other interpretation.
Per The Blaze:
The time-honored geography contest GeoBee is now history. National Geographic, which has sponsored the event for more than three decades, has decided to “permanently discontinue” the bee, citing issues about equitable participation.
According to the outlet’s website, the National Geographic Society decided to cancel the contest after 33 years “to make way for new, transformative, and innovative geography education opportunities in which students around the globe can more equitably participate.” It is unclear when the official decision was made.
The super-woke National Geographic has looked at the face of South Asian supremacy and apparently didn't like what it saw.https://t.co/RufAQX34i0

And notice what they also said in that horrid statement? They want to look for “new ways” for “transformative” opportunities. In other words, they now want to focus on left-wing activism, not actual education.
What a joke.
Once again, we have another American institution utterly destroyed by wokeness.
Liberals and Democrats truly destroy everything they touch.
