Recently Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been continuing to make headlines. First, there is the question of if she will run for President in 2028 (or perhaps the Senate), although she should probably be focusing on her re-election campaign for this year’s mid-term elections. Or maybe she already has her re-election in the bag, especially since she is out campaigning for other candidates.
Second, she has dismissed what she calls “Woke 1”, i.e. the left-wing activism of 2020. She even referred to “Woke 1” as crazy due to Covid-19 and the lockdowns, perhaps in an attempt to portray herself as a moderate should she make a run for the White House or the Senate. But such a portrayal is a façade. As the saying goes: “Inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out”. And AOC is a prime example.
Third, AOC has recently gone through the process of freezing her eggs. She claims she is doing it because it has become normal for women in America to do so, in addition to having more control of her own life (i.e. having children).
Why is AOC doing this? It is most likely a political stunt, with an emphasis on “reproductive rights”. And as far it being the norm, she fails to mention that such a process is expensive and often inefficient.
The cost of multiple egg-retrieval cycles ranges from $10,000-$15,000, not to mention annual storage fees. And the success rate of fertilization by means of this process is low.
Thus, if other women are contemplating following in her footsteps, they should take a look at the costs and the risks involved.
As for AOC doing it, she is probably indifferent to the costs and the low success rate given her liberal views and being a member of Congress.
Finally, it was recently announced that AOC has ended her engagement with Riley Roberts. They had been engaged since 2022, but called it off in 2024.
Why did she wait two years to announce that she was no longer engaged? Did she think it was no one’s business? Or was she afraid it might damage her political career?
It is also unclear what led their engagement being called off. It is possible due to AOC and Roberts cohabiting- presumably they are no longer living together. Studies have shown that cohabitation involves greater chances of divorce (should the individuals cohabiting get married), unplanned pregnancies (and the children having higher rates of substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, poor performance in school, etc.), domestic violence, and generally being unhappy. And of course, there are the morals, i.e. an unmarried couple living together are likely to fornicate.
But none of these facts mean anything to AOC, because she has her head up in the clouds. In fact, she is in her own little world.
But her world could soon come crashing down.
