If Democrats loved democracy as they say, it should have been very simple for them to vote in support of the proposal put forward by Tennessee’s Senator Hagerty. But they did not.
Every single Democrat voted against it.
The concept behind the idea was pretty straightforward.
There is a straight-line connection between our census information and the relative power and benefit each state has in the union.
The American system adjusts the relative power of different states in the Union by the number of people that calls each state home. This was based on the assumption that the people counted in each respective state were citizens with ‘skin in the game’.
Even the controversial 3/5ths clause written up by the framers was not based on the fact that slaves were somehow less human than other Americans, but rather, because they were not free, states with a large number of non-citizen slaves should not be granted a louder voice in Congress if the people who lived in those states were not actually free.
Similarly, while the push to expand voting rights to non-citizens has received a lot of scrutiny, the fact that they have been padding their numbers for the Electoral College by including non-citizen illegal aliens in their population counts means that states with sanctuary cities (like California and New York) are getting extra seats in Congress, at the expense of non-sanctuary states like, say, Kentucky.
Democrats love to finger-wag and tell the world how heartless conservatives are for opposing leftist immigration policies. This vote gave an opportunity for Democratic senators to prove that they are motivated by altruism and not just using the 10 million or so illegal aliens Joe Biden just shipped in as a means to an end, politically.
This vote would remove the perverse incentive Democrats have for maximizing illegal immigration, by removing the political gain their sanctuary cities would have by opening the floodgates to unvetted foreigners who wander in over the border.
The moment of truth came, and Sen Bill Hagerty‘s idea went to a vote.
Did you know illegal immigrants are counted in the census?
My friend @BillHagertyTN had an Amendment tonight to ensure illegal immigrants aren’t counted for the purposes of representation in Congress and who is elected President by way of the Electoral College.

The showed their true face in that vote:
Just like one of their own said they would in a memo leaked in 2018:
“The fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success,” the memo read.
It finished, “If Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and beyond.”
Tom Jawetz, Vice President of Immigration Policy at the Center for American Progress Action Fund, told Fox News that the purpose of the “political strategy memo” was “to advise Democratic elected officials that through their actions they need to show the base that they stand for the base.” — FoxNews
In other words, Dems aren’t trying to ‘save democracy’, they’re trying to rig the game so America is a one-party state.
Do you know the worst problem with a one-party state? There no government-in-waiting to keep crooks honest.
That’s why people like Stalin and Hitler in days past or Putin and Xi and dozens of petty tyrants today, work so hard to sweep away any credible opposition.
Dems know the downside of their open borders policy… but they think the political reward now outweighs any risk.

This vote is nothing less than a shameless power grab. Just like immigration itself is.
The same reason Schumer has fought tooth and nail NOT to throw Menendez to the wolves.
Public service crumbles, but party loyalty remains.
Party before country… always and forever. That’s why while Republicans are often at each other’s throats fighting over principles Dems march lockstep in their votes.
It’s not because they have greater committment to shared principles… its that they have none at all.
The only way to break that is to send them back to the political wilderness long enough to learn a lesson they’ve forgotten since last learning it in 1984.
John The Baptist: A Rude Awakening Precedes A Great Awakening.
This timely little tome chronicles the politically incorrect ministry of one of God’s most effective wildmen, John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Christ’s ministry.
The abrasive message of repentance John preached 2000 years ago is still confrontational and offensive today — but it is also life-changing.
In our putrid, worldly culture that has turned away from God, this book is a must-read for every Christian.
Available in paperback for those of you who like the feel of the pages in your hot, little hands, on Kindle to keep it right at your fingertips, and as an epic Audiobook.
