Of the three names listed on the latest chopping block, the funniest one is the one guy who shivved Trump as debate moderator and then jumped from FoxNews to CNN Plus. Remember CNN+? Maybe not.
Trump routinely ragged on CNN saying that without having Trump to rage against, they wouldn’t have any ratings at all. Now that they are facing yet another round of layoffs, it’s tough to argue against his point.
With loads of bloat and little income to fund it, nobody is safe…
Especially the expensive talent with the big contracts.
Trimming the fat of a Chris Wallace is just as much of a no-brainer as the man himself. But he’s not the only one on the chopping block.
Wolf Blitzer could be put out to pasture.
Anderson Cooper could be facing a pink slip.
Jake Tapper could be all tapped out, too.
And why?
Because nobody really cares about them anymore.
“Anderson knows he’s on the chopping block because he makes a whopping $20 million a year. He’s already started looking for a new gig!” a source described as a “network insider” told In Touch.
“Chris Wallace takes $8 million and figures he’s a likely target, too!” the source said, noting with $15 million for Blitzer and $8 million for Tapper, the cuts could make a major dent in CNN’s costs.
“Everybody knows the focus is on cutting costs,” the source said. “No one is safe!”
The report said most contracts for major CNN hosts will not expire until after November’s election.
“CNN is trying to keep up with the news landscape and become a digital-first provider,” In Touch quoted another source as saying. — Western Journal
Remember how Trump said CNN’s ratings would tank when he was no longer president?
You’d almost think they would push for his reelection, just to stay relevant.
But don’t hold your breath.
